For the last few days me and my family have been cooking and baking up a storm ❄️

It’s the holiday season, so we decided to make up our traditional family chocolate balls. This year we’ve added a little twist to some of them 🪴

For this batch of chocolates, I used the Culinary Lavender Buds from @bonnieheathestate. @bonnieheathestate is nestled in the area of Southern Ontario, this is truly a gem to our area 💎

Did you know English Lavender, which is available at @bonnieheathestate, does not have a camphor compound inherent to it like the French Lavender does, therefore, it translates nicer into culinary applications! Cause I didn’t until I was introduced to this product ♥️

I have never thought to bake with lavender, and frankly confused why I haven’t tried it earlier. The semi sweet chocolate pairs nicely with the lavender filling as it has a bit of bitter notes to complete the floral lavender. I don’t think it taste soapy like most people claim, and think I will be using this more in the future to see what else I can add this to.

Have you ever eaten anything with lavender buds in it? Curious what you think 🤔
