Did you know that February 4th is such a significant day for many, many people. It’s actually #WorldCancerDay.

.
A couple years ago, I didn’t even know this day existed to be honest. I was very much just living life, being oblivious to the real world.

In 2019, my whole life changed, AGAIN.

Cancer doesn’t come for the old, it comes for everyone and anyone. You don’t have to be “unhealthy” to get #cancer. You can live a very healthy life, and still get cancer. My cancer developed over 1.5 years time. I had an IUD put in, and when I went to have it removed ( which they weren’t even going to do ) they found the cervical cancer. #Stage3b1. It had spread to lymph nodes.

My body had been telling me for the year that I wasn’t well. I just felt drained. Tired. My insides hurt. I kept trying to find a solution, but all my tests came back fine. My logic was maybe my body was rejecting the IUD, so I made an appointment with the gynaecologist. She told me #IUD don’t make you sick, and that it wasn’t in for the full length so we should just reschedule. I just wanted it out, for my own sake to be sure. So I forced the idea that since I was already there, that she remove it for me please. It was then, she found it.

Advocate for your health. Don’t give up trying to find answers if you’re not well. If you feel fine, that doesn’t mean you can neglect yourself either. There’s soooo many women that I know who did NOT get any symptoms at all. None. Get your pap smears, have your checkups, check your bossoms, keep looking for answers… your health is so important. If I can protect one of you from going through what I’ve been through, and many others have experienced, you’ll listen. You won’t put yourself on the back burner anymore.

25 radiations appts, 5 chemo appts and 2 internal radiation treatments ( brachytherapy ) If you don’t have time for your health now, just imagine how little of time you’re gonna have when your in the hospital every single day. I never try to be harsh, I just care. ♥️ Dont make the same mistakes I did. Moms, most important YOU matter. Put yourself as a top priority rather than a last.

I can only imagine the whole experience must have been scary. I’m glad I read your post. This is the first time I have been on your blog. I don’t know you had one😊
