🤭 My mom came with me today and took a picture of me heading into the bone scan machine. 🤦🏼♀️
Today’s test had two parts. First part was an injection of calcium, phosphate and some type of radiation liquid and then an initial bone scan that took 5 minutes then was done. The technician then asked me to come back 2.5 hours later for the next portion of the test.
The second portion of the test is this picture right here. You lay on a bed, hands tied and feet tied. You head into a circular machine and the X-ray part that is the square, scans your bones. It starts at your head and every 15 seconds you move out a little bit. Once it gets to your feet, it has a picture of all your bones. After that, because I was getting my hips looked at, they place the squares on either side of my hips and it scanned them for another 10 minutes.
This is basically the bone scan procedure. Nothing scary, just a lot of anxiety because they can’t tell you any of the results. I should find out mid next week how it all went. So far, I’ve had blood work, xrays and bone scans done. I still have two more appts to go, but not sure when they are yet. Hopefully this will give me the answers I’m looking for.
